Biography: Thomas B. Romine Jr. is Chairman of Romine, Romine & Burgess, Inc. He received his BSME Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1948. Tom is Chief Engineer in charge of Design and System Analysis, and is personally involved in each project. He is a Distinguished Fellow Member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, Past President of the Fort Worth Chapter, and active at the national level. In addition to his involvement in ASHRAE's Energy Standards Project Committees, Tom was Principal Author of the "Cooling Load Calculation" Chapter of the 1989, 1993 and 1997 ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals. He is also a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers; Past International President and Fellow Member of Automated Procedures for Engineering Consultants, Inc.; and a Fellow Member and Past State President of the American Consulting Engineers Council. He has been Chairman of the Fort Worth Plumbing and Mechanical Boards, the NCTCOG Code Board, and belongs to several other organizations ranging from Rotary to the Fort Worth Symphony Board. Tom maintains Professional Engineering Registration in four states, and is internationally recognized for his work in creating practical engineering computer programs.
